A year ago, my dumbass drove my F350 too deep and too fast through a crossing on the Knick River. Completely hydro locked the engine. I let it sit for a few minutes and tried to crank it once with a nasty sound. Stopped and called a tow company. I live in Anchorage, so asked the tow driver if there was a good shop close. He recommended Powerstroke Performance without hesitation. I truly feared the worst.... thinking of thousands of dollars that a dealership would take me to the cleaners for. Dropped the truck off after hours and called in the morning. Shad was a no BS kind of guy and gave me a verbal estimate over the phone that seemed extremely reasonable. One day later, went to pick up the truck. Mind you, I had never met Shad and was really rolling the dice. He informed me of the fixes performed, as well as some additional parts he replaced (glow plugs, worn out wiring harness). From the sounds of it, they spit a TON of water out of the engine. I thought "here comes the bigger bill." Nope, honored the initial estimate without hesitation and had me on my way. Shad is a seasoned Ford desiel tech that decided to start his own shop. He definitely knows his stuff. Thanks for getting me back on the road and getting me taken care of with honest work. Over a year later, truck is running with zero problems. That is saying a lot for the finicky 6.0 Powerstroke.

Finally, a diesel mechanic you can actually talk to face-to-face vice a dealer service advisor. When I was having a problem with my 6.0, I was given the best tip of my life and referred to Shad at Powerstrokes Performance...a Ford Master Certified mechanic. I was very impressed with the customer service and depth of knowledge. My vehicle was diagnosed and repaired in a hour for a bad FICM that was causing cold start problems, rough idle, and low power when trying to accelerate in the morning and afternoons after sitting all day. Now it starts right up and idles smooth; my power is back and it is no longer sluggish. All because Shad took the time the watch the FICM for about 2 minutes where the 48 voltage looked fine at first, but then all of the sudden dropped to 43. The FICM was going out and other mechanics had not caught it. Potentially saved my injectors from premature failure and a $3K+ repair bill the dealer quoted me for 8 new injectors. Bottom line: If you own a Ford Super Duty in the Mat-Su, Powerstrokes Performance should be your source for all your scheduled maintenance and repairs; it will be mine from now on...they know how to treat customers and fix diesels right the first time!
